This is known as the "baraat" or the groom's wedding procession. The practice of the groom arriving on a horse dates back to ancient times when horses were considered a symbol of power, strength, and valor.
Though the tradition of war no longer exists, but the historical convention of grooms riding horses to fetch the bride is still rampant. This also advocates the groom's position among other males who would desire the same
position. This apart, horses are even considered as the symbol of power and virtue. They are also kind and are sought for many uses throughout history. Some of these uses include; riding and transport, carrying things,
and also for selective breeding. Perhaps the most important use of horses is the companionship they have provided to humans for millennia.
